Metro and buses: Getting around the city
The public transport system in Madrid is efficient and extensive, making getting around the city convenient and practical. Madrid's metro has an extensive network of lines connecting all areas of the city and its surroundings.
The Madrid Metro is one of the fastest and most convenient options for getting around the city. With its 12 lines and more than 300 stations, you can reach any place you want to visit. City buses are also an excellent option, as they cover areas where the metro does not reach.
To use both the metro and buses, it is advisable to buy a public transport card called 'Abono Transportes'. This card allows unlimited travel for a certain period of time and offers discounts on the usual fares.
